Hear Art, See Music

After tracing the roots of go-go back to West African drum rhythms, students make inferences about what go-go music and the Don't Mute DC movement can tell us about Black culture in DC. Now, it’s your turn to step inside a LILI lesson and learn how art and music can play a major role in the community!

Distinguished Educator Award

This year, we are honored to recognize Hope Harrod as the 2021 LILI Distinguished Educator. Through her 15+ years of teaching, she continues to challenge her students to use their voice to make a difference in and out of the classroom. Join us as we celebrate Hope and the legacy she continues to build.
