Penny (she/her) is a consultant and mentor with the DC Reading Clinic. She recently served for 9 years as a Master Educator in DC Public Schools and an educational consultant at the American Institutes for Research. She was a special education teacher for 25 years in 5 different states, and an elementary school principal for 9 years in Edmonds, Washington. Penny holds a master’s degree in education from Boston College and a B.S. in special education from Rhode Island College. In addition, she received her Administrative Certification in K-12 Education from the Danforth Principal Leadership Program in the College of Education at the University of Washington, and she served as an instructor and mentor in the Danforth program for several years.
