Melani Hunter

Melani (she/her) is an early childhood leader, educator, and advocate who currently serves as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Shepherd Elementary School in Washington, DC.  She is passionate about providing culturally responsive, child-centered experiences that support the whole child and foster a deep love of learning.  Over the past 21 years she has held the roles of teacher, assistant principal, and Master Educator with extensive experience in instructional coaching and evaluation, curriculum development, and program development.  Melani holds a Master of Business Administration from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, an Early Childhood Education Teaching Certificate from Moreland University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from American University.
