Alejandro Diasgranados
Dr. Alejandro Diasgranados (he/his) is an award-winning educator at Whitlock Elementary School in Washington, D.C., dedicated to providing students with high-quality, experiential learning opportunities and fostering community partnerships. A former Virginia State University college football player turned teacher, Alejandro has been recognized as the D.C. Teacher of the Year and National University Teacher of the Year. His advocacy has brought critical resources to his school, including a grant-funded laundry center from the Washington Commanders, a coat drive with the Washington Capitals, and 265 laptops through The Drew Barrymore Show. He has also conferred with U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona and Deputy Secretary Cindy Marten, advocating for nationwide equitable and inclusive learning environments. Featured on The Today Show and People Magazineβs People of the Year, Alejandro holds degrees from Virginia State University and Johns Hopkins University and earned his Doctorate in Education from National University.
