Key content: Students will investigate the motivation and experiences of various participants of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom and explore the complexities of the Civil Rights Movement to understand the role that they can play in creating long-lasting, powerful change.

Focus questions: What events led to the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom? How can the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom help us organize to fight for things we believe in? Why is it important to come together to create social change?
