Major themes or topics: George Washington, American Revolution, espionage, James A. Lafayette, Boston Tea Party, Battles of Lexington and Concord, liberty, freedom
Key content: Students will travel back in time to the summer of 1781 to understand how spying was used to win the Revolution. Along the way, students will develop a deeper understanding of the key events, important figures, and significant concepts related to the American Revolution.
Focus questions: What role did espionage play in the American Revolution? Why did some individuals choose to become spies during this time? How did the information gathered by spies impact the outcome of battles and events during the American Revolution?
